Latest Charity Challenge

On 12 May Julie will be swapping her running shoes for walking boots as she takes on the 26 mile overnight Moonwalk in support of Breast Cancer charity, Walk the Walk.

Walk the Walk is the largest grant making breast cancer charity in the UK, which means that everybody taking part in the challenges is raising money for Walk the Wal; they then grant the funds to other charities and organisations throughout the UK, to help them reach their united goals and ambitions of treating breast cancer.

The Moonwalk is a 26 mile power walking challenge starting at Clapham Common in London, which is walked overnight - hence the name.

The trade mark of the walks is that participants take part wearing a bra - usually decorated in the year's theme - this year it is Wild Wild West.

Julie is well used to running long distances, but taking on a walking challenge has been a whole new experience! 'There are lots of differences in the training' says Julie, 'the mian one being that every distances takes twice as long as running it! But its very sociable and gets you out into some beautiful countryside. I'm really looking forward to the event itself, which promises to be really special'

If you would like to support Julie and the team she is walking with - The Young, The Fit and The Elderley - you can do by following this link.
